What a wonderful show today, Gail and Jay. One observation: Gail, your face today, and word choices, was more animated- yes joyful - than I’ve ever seen. However you achieved that, you wore it well.
I was reminded by your wonderful back and forth that my earlier exposures to poetry were steeped in “There is only one meaning.” For me, hearing that from my college English teacher in particular was intimidating and led to my just not offering my thoughts. I could imagine him scolding one or both of you today. Today, if I comment on what I feel after reading such a work, I don’t expect rebuke from another. And that you perfectly articulated your own interpretations of Frost’s poem, without corrections or disdain, set the perfect tone! 🙏🏽
Thank you for your appreciation Gary! Perhaps my joy was in the opportunity to share my perspective openly with a friend who was comfortable doing the same? Even though, or perhaps because, our perspectives are different?
I/Thou! 😊
OLOL continues to evolve. Jay and I feel excitement in our experimentation — bringing a variety of writing related topics and guests to the podblog.
I love this poem. I think it's about triumph. Yellow sneakers :)
Thank you Gail and Jay!
Yellow sneakered feet

Thanks for being here Julie!
What fun! Thank you Gail.
My new tattoo: "I took the road less traveled by". Thanks for these questions Gail and Jay!
