Hi Gail and Jay! Please know how much I appreciated your spontaneity and energy and palpable joy today! Not to mention more than a couple smiles on your faces.

I read a writer on Substack recently that exclaimed they would soon have 1,000 followers! They seemed not to be living in the present (would soon have). Second, the gauge of success based on follower counts seemed divorced from speaking of their current interests or creative results. Actual doings.

The words “Joy or Writing Community or Comments on Fellow Writers” were AWOL. Today I heard many such words from your PodBlog, and I’m always eager for the next OL,OL.

Hi Gary!

As I am working on a book fueled by my life experience with yoga, I am daily reminding myself that not only is yoga a “practice” — so is life!

This morning I read an article about an opera composer whose debut of a now famous composition was strongly disliked by its opening night audience. The performers were aghast. They couldn’t find the composer and feared he’d taken his life. They found him at home sleeping. Awakened by the distraught he simply said, “I’ll have to do better.” He went back to sleep.

I hear a valuable message in that story!

That’s a great story. I couldn’t agree more on what’s worth losing sleep over. “Absolutely nothing,” as Sly and the Family Stone sang a few years ago. Their use was anti-war themed.

I need to explore ways to date contents of my sentimental jukebox. Maybe even performers’ names. 🤭
