As always, this was a wonderful conversation. Jay--I love your sense of humor. Gail--you are an astute listener. Cathy--thanks for sharing your never-ending smile! As to Cathy's prompt, I don't know if I can top the spider/fly metaphor, but here's my thought: Often, we say "normal" when what we really mean is "common."
Normal is a made up word to make people feel insecure.
Fascinating perspective Sharon.
Surely all of us have felt "abnormal" at points in our lives?
I continue to learn that the opposite of normal can be beautiful.
Amen to that! It’s one of my least favorite words, normal. You must compare in order to use it.
Comparison is the thief of joy- Theodore Roosevelt
It can be a thief of joy... or an invitation to level up.

So much food for thought inspired by Cathy's book!
I love stories and writers who nudge independent thinking.
Thank you both so much for having me as a guest. It was a pleasure speaking with you & I appreciate the opportunity to spread my message!
It was truly our pleasure.
I can't tell you how many times memories of our conversation have entered my thoughts since we spoke!

Thanks for your prompt reply Karen!
I love the spider/fly metaphor. 🕸
Normal is what we try to be until we find our SELF.
